Wp2BB version 1.2 has just been uploaded to the WordPress plugin repository!
Changes in this version:
- Fixed bug regarding unescaped quotes in ‘msg’ custom field
- ‘Topic Message Text’ now split in two, one for posts and one for pages
- Default topic message text can be overriden by ‘msg’ custom field in your post or entry
- Includes a widget to display recent responses in the forum
The Wp2BB widget
Wp2BB 1.2 includes a widget that displays the most recent messages in your PhpBB forum. Three parameters can be configured:
- Title: The widget title displayed in your sidebar
- Number of messages: How many messages to display
- Forums to inspect: Comma separated list of forum ID’s that will be included in the search. This is useful if you do not want to show the latest messages from all your PhpBB forums, but just those you use with Wp2BB or those related to your blog.
See it working in the “Recent forum responses” section of the sidebar of this blog.

What a great plugin!!!
When I added the widget this error appeared:
Fatal error: SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Ayuda me, for favor!
PHP 5.2.6, MySQL 5.0.51a, PHPBB 3.0.2
Hi Devdog,
Most likely your ‘Forum to inspect’ property in the widget is wrong. The value is used to generate the SQL query, so unless it is blank or contains a list of comma separated integers, the Widget will fail. Double check the value of the setting and if it still fails post it here, please…
Regards
Alfredo
I wish you had this same plugin but for vBulletin Board…
I have forum numbers in the selections. I get this:
You are using 5 widgets in the “left_sidebar” sidebar.
Add more from the Available Widgets section.

It kills my blog!
Hi Devdog, guess you are going to have to disable it for a while. Please send me an email so I get your address and we can exchange information untill we figure it out
Hi!
Is it possible, that you will create WP2IPB? (WordPress + IPB)
I’ve searched all the internet - and there are no working version of such integration. There is one - and its _extremly_ buggy.
I definatly would buy your version of integration!!!
And I am sure a lot of people will be very thankful to you!
P.S. Sorry for my English.
There is a similar plugin for vBulletin here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=177625&highlight=wordpress
But it’s not nearly as easy to use as this, nor is it as streamlined. Please port this to vBulletin!
I’ll give vB a try when I am done fixing bugs…
I was first!!!
And I ordered IPB (not vB)!!!
If you need IPB, pls contact me (tavik@hub.ru) and i’ll send it to you!
Hi Tavik, yes you were first, sorry
I’ll contact you soon. Thanks!
Hi, is it possible to use only the widget to see latest posts in the phpBB forum without any other integration? I don
Hi Magda,
It is possible indeed, just configure the plugin and leave the “default forum” settings blank.
Hi,
your plugin is amazing.
